This is a full-time, live-in professional staff position responsible for collaborating with the "House Father/Residence Life Director" in providing quality housing to our international students (aged 14 to 17) living away from their families. The ideal candidate must maintain a safe, healthy, learning and living environment; address student conduct issues; manage the resident assistant program and coordinate the extra-curricular activities. He/she must live with students and assure quality services to them: development, growth, involvement, and recognition  creating an environment which is conducive to innovation and positive thinking. This position reports to the Facility Management Department and works in close coordination with the Education Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, supervise and counsel resident students, ensuring quality housing.
  • Act as a link between students, families and school staff.
  • Supervise student housing facility, identify problem areas, and enlist means to correct.
  • Respond to emergency and crisis situations, and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Apply and handle security and fire safety procedures.
  • Serve as primary caregiver for student.
  • Provide direction and coordination for all housing and extra-curricular activities.
  • Support and participate in all appropriate student affairs, school and extra-curricular activities, events, meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelors required. Master's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Education, or related field preferred.
  • An understanding of student development issues in higher education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (italian and english).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both families and student populations.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to reside in a residence hall.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience as Activities Leader/ Team Sports Coach preferred.
