As part of our BSc (Hons) AI & Data Science program, we are seeking a Professor in Economics for Innovation Technologists to teach and guide students in foundational and advanced database concepts.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Economics for Innovation Technologists course, covering fundamental economic principles and their applications in technology-driven industries. Key duties include:
- Delivering engaging lectures and seminars on:
- Introduction to Economics: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, and economic systems.
- Supply & Demand: Market equilibrium, price elasticity, and consumer behavior.
- Production & Costs: Cost structures, economies of scale, and efficiency.
- Market Structures: Competition, monopolies, and oligopolies.
- Macroeconomic Concepts: GDP, inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policies.
- International Trade: Exchange rates, trade theories, and balance of payments.
- Applications of Economics: Case studies in technology, healthcare, finance, and innovation.
- Integrating real-world examples and case studies relevant to innovation, startups, and digital transformation.
- Supervising and assessing student coursework, including reports and projects.
- Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving in economic decision-making.
- Collaborating with faculty members to align economic concepts with the broader technology and innovation curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
- B2 or C1 English Level
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, market structures, and international trade.
- Experience in teaching at the university level (preferred).
- Industry experience in technology, finance, or business strategy is a plus.
- Strong ability to connect economic theories to real-world innovation and technological advancements.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
