Classroom teaching responsibilities
Establishing classroom environments that are creative, focused, engaging.
Use a flexible teaching methodology that engages students with diverse learning styles.
Lead by example.
Assess and respond to student abilities and progress, adapting their approach with different teaching styles.
Undertake lesson preparation, set/mark assessments, write student reports.
Effective use of the learning management system.
Set and mark students’ work accurately and promptly, giving guidance and work according to their needs, supporting their development and progression.
Provide regular and ongoing feedback to students and parents.
Support the personal development and wellbeing of students.
Team responsibilities
Work collaboratively with colleagues on projects, planning, assessment development and improvement programs.
Openly exchange ideas, expertise, resources and tools with colleagues to improve teaching within the school.
Offer support, information and guidance to new teachers as they settle in to their roles, the school and a new country.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate curricula and current teaching trends, digital tools and developments.
School-wide responsibilities
Foster and promote a sense of pride and positive community spirit among staff and students.
Active participation in co-curricular activities including events, open days and forums, which may include occasional evening and weekend work.
Undertake cover lessons as directed.
Attendance at meetings both during and outside of school hours including as required by the school.
Proactive involvement in professional development activities both school provided and those identified by the teacher.
Staying informed about, and adhering to school policies and procedures, fulfilling any administrative requirements relating to the role.
Qualifications
A relevant bachelor’s degree and teacher qualification (eg: Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts with QTS or Bachelor of Science with QTS, or another related field from an accredited, state-approved programme);
Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA).
Immaculate police check(s).
Contract Duration
12-month contract, with possibility for extension.
Experience
A minimum of three years of recent and relevant experience in a comparable school environment.
Specialist skills & knowledge
Proven ability to plan and deliver innovative inquiry-based lessons that engage students and address their diverse learning needs;
Demonstrated ability to use digital tools and resources effectively to enhance learning;
Planning and organisational skills;
Fluent C2 level English: reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).
