We are looking for a Laboratory Technician (Intern) from August 2024.

Role Responsibilities

The role holder will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide support to science teachers and students before and during their work in the laboratory.
  • Be present in the laboratories for guidance of project works.
  • Help prepare the necessary materials/solutions and equipment for the weekly practical lessons.
  • Check inventory of lab equipment and organise lab equipment in appropriate storage spaces with clear labels indicating the equipment within each storage place.
  • Help organise the purchase of materials, chemicals and instrumentation.
  • Ensure care and maintenance of science labs and request maintenance for fixtures, fittings and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree (eg: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or another related field).
  • Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA).
  • Immaculate police check(s).

Contract Duration

Fixed term contracr, with the possibility for extension and transformation.

Experience

  • Similar experiences in other school environments (nice-to-have)
  • Specialist skills & knowledge.
  • Ability to use digital tools and resources effectively.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Fluent C1 level English and Italian: reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).
